Each person joins with their own sign-in, so the journal shows who gave the last bottle and who changed the last diaper.

Why one shared journal beats a chat group
Family chat threads fill up with times and emojis, and the answer to "when did she last eat?" is always twenty messages up. A shared journal keeps the answer at the top of the screen for everyone, and the history in order underneath it, with the name of whoever logged each entry.
Roles that fit real families
The owner decides who is in the journal. A partner usually adds entries; a grandparent who visits every week might only need to view. You can change a person's role or remove them at any time, and cancel an invitation that was never used.
