Android baby tracker widget: what it does

One tap from the home screen

Feeds, nursing sides, bottles, sleep and diapers, logged without opening the app.

Time since the last feed

A running counter on the widget answers the question before anyone asks it.

Timers on the lock screen

A running timer shows on the lock screen, with Pause and Stop and save on the widget.

Fix it in place

Tapped the wrong button? Edit the latest entry right from the widget.

Quick Settings and Wear OS

Start common entries from the pull-down panel or from your watch.

Your own shortcuts

A lullaby, a playlist or the baby monitor app, one tap from the widget.

Why a widget matters at 3 a.m.

Opening an app means unlocking the phone, finding the icon and waiting for a screen. With a baby in one arm, that is too many steps. The Ella widget puts the buttons you use most on the home screen itself, so a feed or a diaper takes one tap and the phone goes back down.

What the widget shows

The top of the widget shows the time since the last feed and the last diaper, updated as time passes. Below it are the latest entries with an Edit button, and quick buttons for Left, Right, Bottle, Sleep and diapers. When a timer is running, the widget shows it with Pause and Stop and save.

The lock screen and Quick Settings

A running nursing, sleep or tummy-time timer also appears on the lock screen, so you can check it without unlocking. Quick Settings tiles let you start the most common entries from the pull-down panel.

Two Ella widgets on Android: quick-log buttons, and a tummy-time timer with Pause and Stop and save, using example entries.

Your watch, too

On a Wear OS watch, Ella has a tile for one-tap logging and a complication that shows the time since the last feed right on the watch face.

Shortcuts on the widget

Add a YouTube lullaby, a Spotify playlist or your baby monitor app as a shortcut on the widget, so the things you reach for at night are one tap away too. The shortcuts guide shows how, step by step.

Shared with the family

Every tap on the widget is saved to the shared journal. Your partner sees it on their phone at once, and their entries appear on your widget.

Which buttons appear

The quick buttons follow the activities your family logs most, so the ones you reach for at night stay in the same place. Nursing parents see Left and Right, with the next side highlighted; bottle-feeding families see Bottle with their usual amount.

When a timer is running

Start nursing, sleep or tummy time and the widget switches to show the running timer, with Pause and Stop and save. The same timer runs on your partner's phone and on the lock screen.

Fix it without opening the app

Each recent entry on the widget has an Edit button. Tapped Bottle instead of Diaper, or logged the wrong side? Fix it right there, and the change reaches your family at once.

Adding it to your home screen

Touch and hold an empty spot on the home screen, choose Widgets, find Ella and drag it into place. It shows your journal at once, with the time since the last feed and your most-used buttons.

The widget and the family

Every tap on the widget reaches the shared journal. When your partner logs a feed on their phone, your widget shows it the next time it refreshes.
